We’re Looking For A New Senior Pastor
Harmony Vineyard Church is seeking the best candidate called to fulfill the part-time role of Senior Pastor. The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church. They are responsible to the Lord and the congregation to proclaim the gospel and teach the entirety of the Bible. They will be engaged in pastoral care and provide supervisory and administrative leadership in all areas of congregational care, including paid and volunteer staff. Our ministries enable members to build their relationship with Christ as well as grow in fellowship with their church family. We are looking for a Pastor who is called to lead these ministries and members in their growth with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Job Description
The Senior Pastor will joyfully lead this congregation, devoting themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word. They will faithfully shepherd the members, seeking their growth to spiritual maturity, and equipping them for the work of ministry. The Senior Pastor will guard against false teaching and straying from the faith, encouraging the church in following the commission in Matthew 28:18-20. This individual will bring leadership to our growing church family with the support of our strong and seasoned associate pastors, church council, and the wonderful volunteers that contribute to each of our ministries.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal applicant is a mature Christian who loves and obeys the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are grounded in Scripture and live in harmony with the Holy Spirit. Their character should be above reproach, temperate, hospitable, managing their own house well, not self-willed, not quick tempered. Our desire is that they are actively serving within their strengths and spiritual gifts with at least 3 years in the role of Senior Pastor or 10 years of ministry experience serving under a Senior Pastor in Adult, Youth, Children’s, or Worship roles and are a graduate of an accredited seminary or divinity school. This applicant should be an efficient leader who is devoted to teaching the complete Word of God to every member and visitor that enters HVC. The applicant should also have a passion for guiding the next generation of disciples by supporting our preschool ministry, The Lion and Lamb Academy. Additionally, the applicant should have a sound work ethic and a results-oriented mindset. A quest of personal holiness, humility, and obedience is crucial in this leader, along with a discipleship mentality that willfully builds relationship with Jesus Christ and each other.
